"Distinguished Fellow of the NPRA" is the highest honor our Academy can bestow on an eminent researcher for recognizing their distinguished and scholarly contributions to the natural product sciences for their outstanding impact in academia or natural products-related technologies by their research innovations and expertise contributions.

Nominated NPRA Fellows are not required to be members of the NPRA. However, to retain the status of NPRA Fellow, new Fellows must join and remain members in good standing in the NPRA within one year of their selection. The biography and Fellow’s scientific contributions will be added to the website, and it is expected that the Fellow will submit a detailed article in the form of a review and/or account for initiating interest of the scientific community in their subject areas.

Each year NPRA will solicit nominations widely from the scientific community to evaluate candidates and to select those to receive an award. To fulfill the mission of our scientific academy, NPRA Fellows will be chosen based on their outstanding contributions in the broad fields of natural products. The committee will identify recipients who have demonstrated excellence in either basic research, education, and public policy, who have provided exceptional professional service to the natural product scientific community or have made contributions to a combination of these categories. Fellows will serve as advisors to NPRA and its associated professional events of scientific importance for the benefit of natural products research. Fellows are eligible to publish their articles without any APC lifelong in NPRA journals.

NPRA Fellows are expected to engage in conduct that is consistent with the objectives of the Academy. Fellows retain their designation as an NPRA Fellow, NPRAF, for life, unless resigned or found to be involved in scientific misconduct. The body of NPRA Fellows is expected to reach a steady state of 1 to 2% of the NPRA membership and to reflect not only excellence but also the diverse contributions made by NPRA members.
